This class will teach you basic Leftist ideology as it relates to language in America. It will ask you to see yourself as apart of a group-identity, and teach you to analyze micro-aggressions. This course is unfortunately part of a mandatory "difference power and discrimination" section at OSU. The Teacher is only interested in you completing the assignments in accordance with how the course material states you should believe. If you are great at pretending to be a leftist, this class will be great for you.

- Defining why gender is a social construct - How saying "hasta luego" in an americanized accent is racist - De-centering your whiteness - Emphasis on how every minority has been victimized with giving no solutions on how to be successful in life - General Critical Theory - White Guilt - reading a lot of articles that use "Latinx" instead of " Latino"

Professor is very responsive and leaves great constructive reviews on homework.

If you don't agree with modern American leftist ideology, you will need to have a backbone to take this course. The discussion post prompts do not ask you "why" you believe something but rather force you to define terms the way the readings and videos have established them. There is not room for dissent. If you are a generally empathetic, kind, and respectful person this class will be of no use to you.
