Prof: Blatchley / Fall 2021

This course was full of information and throws you face-first into physical chemistry and advanced mathematics. I dedicated one full day per week to working on class materials, reading, or studying, and then additional time each other day of the week.
The material was overly useful for me because it directly related week-to-week to what I was doing in the field for work. The class overall did help explain a lot of things I do on a daily basis. I am in the fully remote program so all exams and homework were done and submitted through Gradescope.
Professor Blatchley was great. He's very direct with teaching so not a bunch of "well why do you think that's so" instead of just answering the question. He was understanding of personal issues that came up during class and was very easy to work with. He's very knowledgeable and I plan to take his follow up course.
The textbook is big. Huge. Plan to dedicate time to reading it. It helped explain the concepts in my opinion. Plan in a decent amount of time each week to do the homework. Some assignments are shorter than others but a few of the assignments took a while. Make sure you're familiar with the deadlines, how to scan in your work, and plan in time for submission (on homework and exams.) If you're debating taking this class, I'd definitely recommend taking it.
