Very intense workload consisting of three major assignments, three exams, three lab quizzes, and a semester-long project. However the course is extremely useful as it teaches a variety of technical skills that are in high demand in industry (mainly R & SQL) that I use to this day.

Mario is an excellent lecturer and one of the best professors I have had. The project will be frustrating because it’s up to you to ask questions and figure out what he is even asking for, but this forces you to learn a lot.

Be proactive about everything in this class, or it will catch up with you quickly. Use the “I don’t know” option on free response questions if you don’t know the answer (Mario/TAs can tell). Do all the lab practice exercises to do well on the quizzes, and do the assignments with a partner if allowed.
