You’re graded on a notebook where you draw and comment on certain species you find out in the wild, but super easy and it’s almost impossible to fail if you show up and do the work.

You take field trips to areas around south Jersey and Dr. Christensen would give us field guides and tell us to try to identify species and draw them. I found it fun and useful for impressing my friends when I was able to identify species.

Dr. Christensen is super sweet and understanding. She can be a bit busy and hard to reach because she is the head of the department but genuinely cares about you succeeding if you show effort.

Buy a raincoat… class doesn’t get cancelled for bad weather.

Required but easy. Kinda boring but definitely learned some useful stuff. Mostly just weekly assignments that took max 20mins. For most of them you got to pick your topic so you could always work on something you found interesting which I loved.

Helps you understand how to evaluate news sources and articles in the environmental field. Great intro course for field.

Dr. Christensen is a very busy person, as she is the head of the department, so she can be a bit all over the place sometimes. But she is always willing to work with you and help you succeed if you show effort. She is super kind and very knowledgeable.
