I took this course because I was pursuing a concentration in Middle East and Islamic History at SFU, but I wouldn't recommend any Muslim or any decent/bashful person taking this course. The Movies are old, and don't teach you much about the history of Egypt. There a lot of readings and their very very long, and rather than Egyptian history they talk more about cinema history in that time.

If you're doing a concentration in Middle East and Islamic History at SFU, i would recommend taking a different course that will actually benefit you.
