course made me rethink my being at the university, felt miserable and wanted to cry on the daily. Extremely important course, terrible delivery. The Comp sci department really needs to rethink their delivery of this course, information this vital and important to a cs student cannot be so horribly structured and horribly taught. Professor Tan isnt bad just a little bit lazy and always skips throught like 1/3 of the course and says to watch his videos (which barely cover the topic properly). Search up Abdul Bari on youtube, he is who taught me algorithms, I went to every class and seminar and hardly learned shit, just use abdul bari's videos.

Extremely important course with vital, need to know information for a cs student, if youre not in cs this course is completely useless to you, this course is basically mandatory if you want to go into ANY field within cs.

He was not bad, the course structure is bad, i just think Tan is bit lazy, he skips a solid 1/3 of the course just skipping through the slides telling the students to go and watch his videos which are pretty shitty and long, and just overall not that good, instead I would recommend to search up Abdul Bari on YouTube, he has a playlist teaching algorithms but keep in mind he isn't using our textbook so he doesn't cover everything and he covers somethings that we aren't learning about.

Don't take this course, find a different degree.
