One of the lessons this courses teaches is that you want your business to specialize in order to stand out -- you can't attempt to cater to everyone, or else you will be nothing to no one. Ironically, this course is the epitome of that lesson as it tries to teach a little bit of everything, but you learn nothing. The profs clearly bias marketing and entrepreneurship.
The grading is so brutal that the TA's feel bad when grading assignments. The TA's are happy when students have late submissions (0%) because that means they can hand slightly higher grades to everyone else. Course is too subjective, if you do your work correctly you will get 75 +/- 15. It's as fun as a lottery except it's with your grade and not fun lmao
Nice enough, but I've heard if they have a bad or no impression of you, they might ignore you when you need help.
RIP gpa

Overall, I felt like this class was a good introduction to business and to Sauder. It got a bit boring at times, but I believe that the skills they taught us (case analysis, essay writing, participating in class) are essential first steps to success in business. Approach this class with an open mind.
Be prepared to put in a lot of work for this class if you want a high grade. Start assignments as soon as possible and do a little each day so it’s not overwhelming. Lecture participation and group business plans are extremely difficult to score high in, but don’t let those low marks discourage you. Just try your best and instead focus on other important assignments like the final reflection paper (weighted 20%) and Individual Assignment 2 (weighted 15%). It isn’t impossible to get high marks here if you go to office hours and continuously think of creative ideas that stand out from everyone else’s work.

Frustrating course because there is no feedback and a low average on assignments. Participate a lot as many people get less than 30% for their participation grade. Don’t get too frustrated about marks, just focus on learning the material.
