This course is not 100 level...it's obvious that they use this course as a filter. The WebWork thing is a Torture that violates the Geneva Conventions It's not that hard to pass it, but you definitely need a considerable math knowledge reserve to get high marks.
Basic calculus operations other than integration, including derivative etc. Be prepared for the torture of auto grading... The numbers for each student's WebWork questions are randomly generated, so in many cases the amount of calculations will be outrageous, and you often don't know which step of calculation is wrong. Projects are not designed for you to solve it. I think it's just a way for them to screen out math geniuses. My contribution to my team is primarily of emotional value. The final exam is divided into two parts. Part A is basic knowledge. There are 25 questions in this part, and you must answer 50% of them correctly, otherwise you will fail the exam. Part B is also a filter, I couldn't even understand the questions at the time. I don't know if it was useful, but I complet...read more
One of the best professor you can have in this school. Dr Ghioca is very patient and cares about his students. His enthusiasm for every class burns like a nuclear reactor, and he gets applause from his students after every class (I've never seen this on other classes!). But to be honest, the class itself doesn't deserve Dr Ghioca.
If you're not a math person, you're going to have a miserable time; I barely got through by rote memorization. And you need a math guy to be your teammate, otherwise you're cooked :)
