Multiple perspectives/views on Canada and its culture/issues was super interesting. I also appreciated how we learned to read/understand scholarly research, so the course was a good skill builder. I do however wish that we could have breaks on those reading summaries that were assigned before basically every class. We had 2 midterms and a final paper, midterms were in person on paper with 5 multiple choice 5 fill in the blanks and either 2 short answers and 1 long answer OR 2 long answers. I wish we only had the short/long answers. Paper was structured as a research one, confusing at first but we got the hang of it. What I really hated was that we had to get on groups to agree on half of a references list and a topic. Some groups become close, others, not so much... yet we're supposed to ...read more
You win some you lose some. Her intentions are great, but not all her practices were. But I learned a lot of content and skill. If you aren't the most interested in Canada, fear intense reading/research, or don't want to do exams let alone on paper, Rafael Wainer would be an easier option
