Professor Thomas Bittner Reviews
Class Ratings
Prof: Thomas Bittner / Fall 2020

This class was interesting. Dr. Bittner is an intelligent and good instructor--and the material is reasonably interesting. It can be very difficult to be properly interested in reading studies, but this version of the course was much better than the one I initially took with Dr. Burgess. You need to do the readings for this class--can't be emphasized enough. Otherwise, most things are straightforward. Some conversations with classmates, assignments, some in-class quizzes. Decent iteration of the class, and a step up from the one I originally took.
Do all the readings, and learn the art of skimming. You can't read every article in its entirety in detail or you'll find you're sitting in front of your screen for an unholy amount of time. Try not to procrastinate your last paper as well. I did a little, but came out with a remarkably decent grade given my investment. Also *clarify* assignment requirements and quiz requirements in detail, long before they are due. Some of Dr. Bittner's guidance for the assignments and quizzes can be too nebulous, and specificity is required on some of the content.
