Fun and engaging content. Prof. Ledford made it interesting. Having a basis in R is also very useful for STA100/130, and BIS180L for those who choose to take it.

The whole class is a series of computer labs. You'll learn R through in-class assignments and get graded homework after each class. The in-class assignments and homework are the majority of your grade, and are graded for completion. There are a few easy tests and a small final project.

Very good lecturer and willing to help students individually. Was in a small-classroom format, so it was much easier to talk directly to the professor and get help during class.

No prior programming experience is required at all. You can do very well on this class even if you aren't good with computers. (However, you will need access to a computer at home to do homework on.)
