Really great introduction to graphic design. Class is pretty fast paced so it will be hard to keep up with in the beginning. Projects are fun and intersting.

Introduction of Illustrator and Photoshop. First 2 projects are illustrator, 3rd is photoshop and you choose the software for the final project. There is weekly exercises that help refine skills for the project. There are 6 canvas quizzes based on the textbook readings.

Professor is really great, he goes through all the tools step by step in class, posts the shortcuts on the board to refer back to and has a youtube channel where you can look through the tutorial at your own pace. Professor has rally strict grading but it really helps improve your projects and requires a portfolio website as part of the class which is great when applying for internships.

First 5 people on the waitlist will get in but will have to buy Adobe illustrator and Photoshop. Adobe products are free at the SCC computers so won't be purchase if enrolled in the class. Don't be alarmed by harsh grading, professor will let you resubmit any assignment to replace previous grade before the last day of instruction. If you redo the assignments, class should be really rewarding as you'll be left with a portfolio clearly illustrating your best work.
