It was a challenging class since you have to understand different algorithms, and it can be difficult to grasp at first.

The class was divided into three main topics, each focusing on a different type of algorithm and each with an exam at the end. If you do well on these topic exams, you won't have to take the final! And if you don't do well, the final can make up for it. I think that helped reduce the pressure and also ensured we understood each topic well. There was also homework almost every week which prepared us for exams.

I really liked Professor Shindler's teaching style. He's good at keeping us engaged and explaining things. After lectures, he would stay for a while outside class to answer questions, and I think that was quite helpful.
