Professor Bryanna Sylvester Reviews

Prof: Bryanna Sylvester / Fall 2020

If you took and did well in AP chem during high school, you'll probably do fine. If not, I recommend studying up on some basic chem or taking the prep course. Class is very exam-heavy, and there will be 3 midterms and a final (drop lowest midterm). The exam itself is not that difficult (she uses questions similar to past exams and some book problems), but the time crunch can be rough.
Mostly dealing with stoichiometry, redox, acid-base titration, precipitation, hybridization, orbitals, bonds, electronegativity, and more...
Prof. Sylvester will literally put you to sleep during her lectures, and the fact that I took this course online made it even worse. But she is very responsive when it comes to contacting her, and she is generally lenient when it comes to your needs.
The textbook is optional, but you do have to pay for ALEKS. I would say that the text is useful to have tho.
