This class I haven't gone to since the 4th week of school I can't lie. Study Edge has gotten me through the whole class. Because he doesn't require attendance and doesn't have any required homework it's truly a work at your own pace class if you want it to be.
He's adorable and will actually talk to you. He gives phone breaks in class too lol.
The second exam is the hardest, don't underestimate the first one either. There are quizzes, that aren't multiple choice, in the discussion sections which do help your grade. This course is very much what you put into it so do the optional hw, watch the solution videos, do the worksheets, and do the study edge. Trust me.

The aleks assignments were due with every chapter and most of the class grade was exams. The exams were pretty difficult and required studying but it is fair based on what the class is. She taught really well and cared about student’s understanding even in a big lecture hall. She also gave 20 points of extra credit for final which helped a lot.
So far it has been useful for organic chemistry, it made me connect everything I learned in Chem 1 better.
Study for the first exam even if you feel confident in the material

Prof: Adam Veige/chares Cao / Fall 2022

This class was easy for me as I had a lot of prior knowledge due to taking AP Chem in high school. Reading the textbook in addition to going to class was EXTREMELY USEFUL. Study Edge and the practice problems at the end of each chapter were also crucial for doing well on exams
This class discusses kinetics, equilibria, acids and bases, precipitation, thermodynamics, electrochemistry, and nuclear chemistry. Useful for a premed student going into orgo chem.
Both Professors were enthusiastic about the course. I liked Prof Veige a bit more due to his PowerPoints following along exactly with the textbooks which made it easier to read ahead. Prof Cao's accent can be hard to understand and his part of the course took a bit more self-teaching in order to do well.
Reading the textbook, doing practice problems at the end of each chapter, and study edge.

Hard class and good preparation for orgo, if you know it in this you will be better off for orgo. The Colonel was nice and was clearly knowledgeable about the topic but did not provide many resources for the class. You will see 150 people at the start of the year and I was one of 15 coming by the end -- definition of a weed-out class.

Oh God. Lopez's class was definitely something. His teaching style was completely useless and I could not understand half of what he was saying. He'd purposefully release grades of exams on days after his office hours so that no one would complain to him LOL ngl pretty smart. The worst thing is that every single exam had a mistake. Wrong answer choices or wrong units or wrong words just wrong. And even though he was reluctant to give points back some times, he generally did. The issue is that because in the moment I'm not aware that there is a mistake, I think that I'm the one making the mistake. So I would spend so much time on problems that ended up having a mistake. Therefore, even though he would throw the questions out, I still suffered because I wouldn't have time to actually finish ...read more

Easier than chm2045. Just get studyedge and you’ll be fine.
Toth’s lectures make no sense most of the time, studyedge is a must for this course, it’s definitely worth it.

Easier than Chem 1
Easiest Exams.
Half of exam questions from quizzes and homework with different numbers.
