Prof Jacobs was actually quite helpful if you utilize him. I asked for help and random questions on the lab procedure before I did it, and he would help me a lot. However, some guys in my class wouldn't ask and then when they occasionally messed up, he would get mad.
Content helped me understand the class more by far.

Very rigorous and very time-consuming, but all very worth it in the end. Spent probably 20-30 hrs/week on this lab alone over the semester, but everything was ultimately worth it. Quizzes and lab practicals every week or two. Good TA's were always present in lab for questions/help, etc.
Analytical lab techniques, data analysis skills, aseptic procedures. Cornerstone class for all future chem/general labs, very useful even if it was very intensive.
Excellent professor, cared deeply about students personally, as well as their learning. Quick to respond to questions, and he was always present for a good portion of each lab.
How intensive it would be, and the standards we'd be held to. Probably would have chosen easier classes to go with this lab otherwise, but it was still manageable albeit very time intensive.
