I came into the class needing to knock off a physical science requirement and I guess I got what I asked for. 80% of the exams are lecture content so if you take active notes and have taken advanced biology courses in high school you have a pretty good understanding of most of the concepts. Exams are all multiple choice and the assignments are easy enough, but the main downfall of the class is the reading checks and quizzes that are due every week. The exams themselves aren't based on the textbook readings and Smartwork5 is an inconvenient platform.
Vogl does a good job of simplifying concepts for the class and posts lectures on Canvas which is a big help. Just take good notes and make sure to make use of the 4x6" notecard you can use during exams (so many kids would be writing out index cards in the five minutes before exams were passed out and I would have written in 6pt font on both sides the night before so I didn't have to memorize as much, lol).
A large chunk of the exams are just questions from the assignments you do throughout the module with the graphics or numbers changed, so make sure to check your answers with the answer key he posts after it is due so you know how to do the more work-intensive problems.

Class isn't to hard. Lectures aren't too bad but some stuff can be boring. Exams are very lecture based and are a little tricky if you didn't prepare well. Assignments are a little time consuming as they are weekly.
I only took this because I needed a science in order to graduate and it wasn't super bad. You learn a lot about oceans, tornados, volcanos, moons etc.
He seems chill. Summarizes stuff pretty decently. Cracks a joke here and there. Seems like a good guy.
Don't expect to just pass. You have to work a little. Watch the lectures.
