Comments on the course

Super easy 1 credit class, useful if you know you want to be an engineer but aren't sure what type of engineer. 5 min of workload a week, class is a weekly 3 hour block but class never lasted longer than an hour and a half.

Course Content

Each week you watch a presentation by a different engineering major, and then you have to take a short quiz (5 questions) based on the information in the presentation. Often the presenters would let you ask the quiz questions out loud and then they'd answer them for you. Once the quiz was just one question, and it asked if I attended the lecture and that was it. The class was 90% online due to covid, but once the presentation was in person. If the class is in person the location will change each time. At the end of the semester you had to write a 5 paragraph paper on why you chose a specific engineering major, or a different major not in engineering. Attendance is supposedly mandatory, but I missed a class and did not receive any penalty. Overall, super easy and low maintenance.

Comments on the professor

So technically Joel Parker was our professor, but we only saw him the first week. Every week is a new presenter from an different engineering major.

Advice

Super easy and low maintenance, good if you need a 1 credit class or are trying to figure out what engineering major suits you
