Comments on the course

I was nervous going into this course because people make it out to be super difficult, but it wasn't nearly as bad as I expected. Homework assignments about every two weeks which are similar to problems gone over in class. Three exams (no final which was amazing) which are somewhat difficult because they have a lotttt of questions for only 50 minutes, but they are very similar to the practice exams so if you understand them you'll be fine. Also the exams are usually curved which helps. The content with them is mostly on par with what is covered in class/homework so nothing too crazy.

Course Content

Exam 1 content was the most difficult in my opinion because we had to do stuff with integrals, the tricky part was mostly just finding the bounds, we were allowed to use calculators during exams that calculate integrals. Also cheat sheets on the exam were a major help. Exam 2 content was extremely easy, and exam 3 was similar to exam 2 but a little bit harder. Sometimes he'll throw in some R programming stuff but it's not super relevant to the course, pretty much just used as a calculator so you need to know some really basic functions for the exams but he goes over them in class.

Comments on the professor

He has really bad reviews on rate my professor but I didn't think he was an awful professor at all. I actually thought his lectures were helpful because he goes over a bunch of practice problems at the end of every chapter that you can reference during homework and practice problems are (in my opinion) the best way to learn. He seemed a little bit mean/strict but I never personally interacted with him.

Advice

Allocate plenty of time to study before the exams because you want to be able to do problems fast. Time yourself doing the practice exam. He posts like 500 "recommended problems" on canvas but don't feel like you need to do all of them. I'd say before the exams do a couple for each topic until you feel like you have a good understanding of it. It's not a bad course if you stay on track and understand the homework (don't just copy it from the internet because then studying for the exams will be way harder). The content isn't that bad especially compared to other classes here so just study smart and you'll make it through the class.
