The math is pretty easy, especially if you’ve taken differential equations as some DE topics show up in the class. The projects kind of suck and you have to rely on your group mates to do their work well to get a good grade overall.
I wouldn’t say the math is very useful, though I found it fun at times. The projects are definitely useful if you haven’t used MATLAB before and are planning on taking another class that uses it.
I never interacted with her directly but she seemed nice. I had to speed up all the lectures I watched by x1.6 so I wasn’t completely bored.
The only advice I have is to absolutely get started on the projects as soon as you can and go to office hours if you’re struggling.

The math in this course is very easy (at least compared to calculus and most upper-level maths) but a little tedious at times. The only thing I struggled badly with was the MATLAB projects, but then again I didn't have much coding experience.
MATLAB experience is relatively useful; parts of the math topics were similar to calc 3 (lots of vectors) but way easier.
Dr. Williamson is very nice but doesn't explain things super well, however, I didn't have any issue with learning the material.
The exams are not super difficult and are based almost entirely on the reviews she gives you. She teaches some proofs in class but you DO NOT need to know how to actually prove things. Also, Course Hero and Knack tutoring are super helpful for the MATLAB projects. Make sure you get a good project group too.

The math for this course is easy but the matlab projects are awful and you will not receive any instruction in class about how to do them.
Basically all about matrices and stuff you can do with them. The math isn't bad and the exams are similar to the homework. You also get to choose to retake an exam at the end of the semester and it fully replaces your score if you do better so that is a huge boost. There is also a quiz that is open notes and online at the end of the semester that is the same weight as the exams (there are also soooo many exams if you take it in person). The exams also all have 5 bonus points on them. The one thing I will give kudos to is that this class is lenient on grading.
My issue with her teaching is that she did not go over the matlab assignments AT ALL in class. Her lectures were solely about the math and went over what you needed to know for homework and exams. She did not teach anything about matlab so if you have never coded in that language expect to spend 80% of your time during the projects just googling how to do basic stuff because you received 0 instruction about it. You basically just get a pdf with terrible instructions and that's it. Also except for the first project, all the projects are group projects and you have the same group all semester. If your group sucks then you are basically screwed. My group was terrible so we literally got Ds on all the projects even though the sections I did were fine, but nothing I could do about that without ...read more
Know basic stuff about matlab because you will have to teach it to yourself in this class anyway so might as well get it out of the way. Also would 100% recommend to take it online. The online sections had less exams because they were combined. I think I would have preferred it that way.

Moderately understandable content, though programming was at time difficult with little to no instruction
Stay ahead of the programming on MATLAB
