I really enjoyed the class. Professor Ripol made her expectations very clear and helped explain concepts further when needed. Also, there was no real cumulative final: just exams 1, 2, and 3 which was nice.
Professor Ripol explained concepts further when asked and provided a lot of practice opportunities for the test. My only con would be that she purposefully tries to trick people on certain exam questions, so make sure you go through the wording in the notes and apply it in the tests.
Make sure you do multiple practice exams after going over your notes. Looking over the specific wording of answers will help you not get caught up on the confusing wording in some of the exam questions.

Tests were tricky with their wording but overall, not impossible to get an A on every one. There is a lab portion where you must go to a lab every week and do a short lab activity, it's not very hard.
She really wants people to succeed and is very good at making her expectations clear. You will know exactly what it going to be on the exams.
Don't buy the textbook. Make friends with the people you sit next to in lab in case you have a question. Watch lectures on 1.6x speed. Do all the practice exams!!!

Having never taken a stats course before, I was a bit nervous going in. Luckily, the content was very interesting and applicable to real life, something I value heavily in a math class! The content could be tricky, but never got to be over-the-top challenging. Also, the textbook wasn't required which was really nice because honestly the notes you get to fill in cover everything you need to know. There were 3 lectures a week and a quiz for each lecture, but basically if you listened at all you were guaranteed to pass the quiz. The quizzes and tests were multiple-choice, and if I recall correctly non-cumulative. The "labs" are also pretty easy, just extension exercises to apply stats to the real world.
Dr. Ripol was fantastic, she explained stats in a way that really made sense. I liked having the recorded lectures (maybe only due to COVID, not sure) because I could rewind the parts that didn't make sense. Also, she provided us with past exams to study, so nothing on the tests was a huge surprise.
Study the practice exams, do the labs and quizzes on time, do the extra credit assignments.
