It's a physics class, expect some problems where you're genuinely just stuck. However for a physics class, I think if you put in the effort then you should be fine. I was personally worried about this class because Quantum Mechanics is the boogey man of physics classes but it ended up being my favorite class that semester and I ended up getting an A without stressing too much by just staying on top of the material.

The first part of the course is solving the Schrodinger equation in the most ideal setups (infinite square well, harmonic oscillator, a free particle, finite square well, dirac-delta potential). Then you do the linear algebra formulation of quantum mechanics. Finally you end with the Schrodinger equation in 3-D space and coupled states.

Dr. Meisel was definitely very passionate about teaching the material. He has some very funny mannerisms that I personally found enjoyable. He is definitely one of the more lenient professors in terms of exams as they were open book and you can take it at any time in the span of a week.

Make sure to do the in-class assignments, they're easy to put off and can slowly chip away at your grade. Also stay on top of textbook readings since the whole class is based off of Introduction to Quantum Mechanics by David Griffiths (fantastic textbook by the way)

The class was tough, but it didn't consume all my time. As long as you genuinely try you should do pretty good. Homeworks were based off of textbook problems and lecture material, exams covered the same stuff and were open-note open-book.

He covered a lot of stuff from modern (Schrodinger Eq, infinite square wells, etc.), then linear algebra's application in quantum, and lastly more of entangled states and a bit of quantum computing.

He was really passionate about the subject. It's the first time I've actually found a physics lecture interesting. But he would sometimes get frustrated with students asking questions in class. In office hours however he was very welcoming and helpful.

Do the readings - he has in-class assignments daily (that make up 25% of your grade), and they're almost always based off of the readings.
