Professor Oppenheimer, Baer, Mcdaniel Reviews

Prof: Oppenheimer, Baer, Mcdaniel / Fall 2021

Course was not too bad, but having three different professors can really mess people up if they aren't prepared for it. Each professor teaches one section of the course (Oppenheimer- Cells, Baer- Genetics, and McDaniel- Evolution). Smokin' Notes helped in most sections but Baer is in a world of his own so nothing we could do there.
McDaniel was the best lecturer out of the three hands-down. His lectures, slides, and LC were very helpful in preparing for his exam- and made me enjoy learning Evolution. Oppenheimer wasn't bad but his slides were just copy pasted from the textbook and he tried his best to elaborate. Baer is the worst lecturer and the information he went over in class and what was on the exam did not correspond to each other at all. Not surprised to learn that the exam average was a 45% for his section- we were all very thankful for the 30 point curve.
I would recommend studying each weekend and just going through the material instead of trying to cram before the exam. It can be hard to adjust to three different teaching styles, but if you're prepared beforehand you shouldn't do too bad.
