Prof: Albert Ades / Fall 2020
Aug 26, 2021
I found this course very interesting and really enjoyed it. Obviously in an online environment things may be easier (open note exams), but it still required a great deal of work. I spent about 20hrs a week altogether watching lectures, taking notes, and studying. I never felt blindsided by anything on the tests but he does require you to do some light critical thinking rather than just memorize for the exams.
Dr. Ades is great! Very sweet man, explains concepts well. A few times it was hard to understand him on the lecture recording but I was able to fill in the gaps most of the time.
I recommend using an active learning technique for this class because the stuff really builds up. He does ask some very specific questions so make sure you understand everything. Also I didn’t go to office hours that much, maybe 2-3 times a few weeks before an exam at most, but going was helpful for tying up loose ends and I appreciated the appointment system which allowed for one-on-one office hours.
Dr. Ades (goes by both Albert/Ibrahim Ades)
