*NO PARTIAL CREDIT ON TESTS* At the time of taking this course, the grading criteria was bizarre. The course content was divided into 26 "Learning Targets". There were ~10 quizzes called "checkpoints" to test your comprehension of the Learning Targets. Students are given three (3) opportunities to master each Learning Target, on three separate checkpoints. The kicker is that there is not partial credit for the grading of any of these checkpoints. If a question has four parts and you get one wrong, you lose credit for the three parts you got right. Regardless of homework, two projects, and a final exam, this assessment method was entirely unnecessary, frustrating, and often discouraging.
Standard probability course, statistics not included.
Dr. Deep's plan of the week was helpful for preparing for lecture. He supplied us with pre-recorded lectures on each topic and advised we come into the class with some prior understanding of the course concepts. This way questions about core concepts could be asked in class.
