Ridiculously difficult quizzes but manageable homework as long as you pay attention. Get ready to earn a mediocre grade with this teacher. You just have to work hard.
Professor Koblitz barely explains concepts in lecture & has a tendency to skip over steps when showing an example problem which makes it all the more confusing. Not suited for remote learning at all.
Try as hard as you can to drop or switch out if Koblitz is your only choice.

Poorly structured maths class that could have been so much more straightforward or forgiving if it wasn't for the prof's disorganization and an awful awful grade curve. Textbook alone does NOT prepare you for exams. Prof does not try to help students at all, and his outdated lecture style makes it very hard to pay attention and follow any class content. In my old school, I had very high grades in maths but this class made me doubt my ability.
Incredibly tough tests, and content taught does not always apply to them. Study a lot to see if you can get above a 3.0 in the class, even with this annoying grade curve. Try to find good study materials online, because Koblitz doesn't have any.
Avoid Koblitz at all cost if you can. I took maths 124 with Ebru Bekyel and maths 126 with Andrew Loveless and they were both much better.

The grading system takes away all the interest from this class and makes it much more difficult than it should be. Your grade is competitive with your classmates, so how they do will affect the curve and ultimately your own grade.
Neal Koblitz is very smart and passionate about math, but he's a very ineffective teacher. Also unapproachable.
Try to do well on the quizzes with the short time you had on them. This was made somewhat better by remote learning.
Don't take Koblitz.
