Readings are manageable enough but there’s many. Prof is really knowledgeable on the subject and allows you to understand deeper meanings and real-world influences/impacts easily. Essays aren’t too bad and he’s a rather lenient grader at times. Lots of ways to participate and discuss in the class.
Try to get ahead on the readings if you can. Go to Tom’s office hours when you can, he is approachable and always willing to work with you.

I'm not an English major but took this course remotely for a VLPA credit (through an add code) and found that it was very accessible for non-English students. Very interesting reading material, and the essays are easy once you do finish the books - class discussions can help a lot. Interesting real-world connections as takeaways. The only thing I particularly disliked was that we had to send our essays through email, even if he did give us feedback anyway.
Professor Foster had very informative lectures and was always willing to make time to work with students and get to know them. I appreciated this.
