Only took this class because I needed technical elective credits. The class isn't hard, but it's just a hell lot of work. No rubrics for presentations and does not give good feedback on how to improve on the homework. I feel like half of your grade is based on luck since you can't pick your groups for the presentations, it's always random breakout rooms. Overall, the course doesn't feel like a biomed course, it feels more like a history and debate course.

If you like presenting 10-15 min every week about historical stuff and watching 1+ hour long documentaries and writing about them, then take this class. Otherwise, don't.

Worst professor ever. She has no syllabus or rubrics. She grades based on feelings alone. Every week you present a PowerPoint with a random group about the worst thing and this takes up the entire class time. She does zero teaching. I also think she is an antisemite because of how she smile so menacing when we talk about the Holocaust.

If you don’t have take this class, don’t. If you must then just take an extremely radical position and play into it hard. That’s the only way she’ll give you good grades.

she makes you argue for ridiculous things like pro Jim Crow Laws. Her grading is harsh and inconsistent.

This class is pretty easy, but if you're not a BMES major, don't take this class. It's not fun and the professor will make you want to die.

I think this class only sucks because of the professor, so if you see Stacey Ake teaching this class, RUN AWAY.
