My specialization is science. Her class has a lot more to do with understanding political climates/understandings of science than it does with how to teach science. I left with a good understanding of what kind of student backgrounds I may encounter, but no further understanding of how to teach science in a classroom. She's a really nice prof, but I didn't find this class helpful at all in terms of how to teach.

Make sure to reference any of the readings she provides (especially the terms used) and you'll do well.

Did not leave the class feeling prepared to actually teach STEM, but does make you think about the current climate in education.

Have a basic understanding of Minecraft before starting, you have to do an entire project on it which is NOT fun if you've never used it before. This isn't stated in the syllabus, but was told to us during class time the week before.
